Environmental Policy

At Recommerce, we are committed to building a better world – one with a focus on sustainability and preserving the natural environment. We have designed our business to support the circular economy and to prevent e-waste whenever possible. In doing so we always seek to minimise the impact of our own business operations on the environment.

To support this policy, our employees receive regular training and updates on our sustainability goals, environmental initiatives, and performance against the specific aims below.  Are employees required to cooperate to ensure that this policy is fully implemented.

In particular, Recommerce Ltd will:

  • Fulfil all compliance obligations including laws, regulations and other requirements relating to the environmental aspects within which the firm operates and where possible, aim to exceed the minimum requirements.

  • Undertake activities that support the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.

  • Ensure the prevention of pollution and e-waste. To support this, we will continue to improve and evolve our device trade-in programmes, increase device repairs and re-use components wherever possible.

  • Aim to continuously improve our environmental performance. Including increasing the volume of devices that we recycle, and a number of refurbished devices sold. This slows down the demand for brand new device manufacturing and reduces CO2 emissions.

  • Minimise the consumption and wastage of natural resources as far as reasonably and economically practicable within our own business and our supply chain.

  • Dispose of all waste according to the principles of the waste hierarchy.

  • Encourage the use of travel alternatives and options that minimise environmental impact. Wherever possible our employees will conduct meetings online via video conference.

  • Incorporate environmental considerations into all our business decisions and strategic plans.

  • Ensure that wherever possible we purchase environmentally sustainable products and services ahead of other options, as well as consider our supplier’s environmental credentials during the selection process.

  • Annually set objectives and targets relating to our most significant environmental aspects (i.e. carbon reduction, energy consumption, waste management, procurement practices and employee awareness). We will measure our ongoing performance against these objectives at monthly management meetings.

  • Provide information, instruction, and training to staff as necessary on the environmental impacts of the firm’s activities and on the mitigating measures and initiatives implemented, to minimise these impacts.

  • Where appropriate, actively encourage our clients to adopt environmental and sustainability strategies. Our MobileAdvantage brand has been designed to provide a platform that supports clients in promoting sustainability to their employees and as such we will continue to invest to enhance this proposition.

  • Regularly monitor this Policy to ensure that it remains in line with legislative requirements and addresses the activities of the business and other relevant requirements. It will be regularly reviewed and revised as necessary in the light of relevant changes.

We are committed to limiting our impact on the environment, reducing e-waste and reducing the manufacturing of new devices by supporting the circular economy and promoting sustainability.
