Removing an Account Lock and your Data before sending us the device(s) you are recycling or trading-in.

Any account lock must be removed from your device(s) prior to shipment. If you require any data on the device(s) you must also back this up before you dispatch to us. Ideally restoring your device(s) for recycling, to factory settings afterwards. Any devices returned with account locks or containing data, will significantly delay payment. Once you have backed up your data you will be able to download it to your next device.

How to remove account locks and reset your Apple iPhone before shipping

 Select ‘Settings’ and tap ‘General’.
 Click on ‘Transfer or Reset iPhone
 Click on Erase All Content and Settings
(Make sure you have backed you your data before doing this)

How to remove account locks and reset your Samsung before shipping

 Tap the ‘Apps’ icon and open ‘Settings’.
 Select ‘Accounts’, ‘Samsung Account’ then select your email address.
 Tap ‘more’ in the top right corner, select ‘Remove Account’ then tap ‘Remove Account’.
 Enter your password and confirm, then select ‘Remove Account’.

 Open ‘Settings’ then ‘Backup & reset’.
 Select ‘Factory data reset.’
 Select ‘Erase phone data’.

How to remove account locks and reset an iPad before shipping
 If you’re using iOS version 10.3 or later:
 Go to Settings
 Tap [your name]
 Scroll down and tap Sign Out
 Enter your Apple ID password when prompted
 Go back to Settings
 Tap General
 Near the bottom, tap Reset
 Tap Erase All Content and Settings
 Enter your Apple ID password to confirm the changes

 If you’re using macOS Catalina or later
 Click System Preferences
 Click Apple ID
 Untick the box next to Find My Mac
 Enter your Apple ID password when prompted
 Click Sign Out

How to remove the Apple iCloud Account lock on your device remotely

To disconnect your personal account (Apple ID) from your device remotely follow the steps below.

Make sure you have your iCloud Account credentials handy. You’ll need to know which iCloud account is or was on the device as well as the corresponding password. (you can reset your password using the forgot password link if needed)

1. Go to iCloud.com and log in to the same iCloud account linked to your device.
2. Click on “Find iPhone”. (or another device i.e. iPad if applicable)
3. Click on “All Devices” at the top of the window and select the device you want to disconnect.
4. Click on “Remove from account” and enter your Apple password again to confirm the account removal. This will remove the device from your iCloud account and will mean we can fully test and restore the device to original factory settings. This will mean we can offer you maximum trade-in value, as the device will be usable and not locked.

How to remove your Samsung Account lock on your device remotely

If you’re trading in a Samsung device to us, you’ll need to remove your Samsung account before sending it. Failure to remove your Samsung account in advance will result in your payment being delayed.
Removing your Samsung account is quick and easy and can be completed using your device or remotely via the Samsung account website.
1. Go to https://account.samsung.com
2. Sign into your account.
3. Click ‘Find My Mobile’.
4. Enter your password and click Sign In.
5. Click ‘Registered Devices’ and select your device.
6. Click the trash bin icon and accept the disclaimer.
7. Your phone will be deleted from your Samsung account.

Disconnecting your Google account from your device remotely when you no longer have it in your possession.

To delete your google account from your device follow these steps:
1. View your devices on your Google Account
2. Select the device you’ll be sending to the us as a trade-in.
3. Select “Sign out”
That’s it. Your device is ready for us to test and restore to original factory settings for its next life.
